:: For the walker
On leaving the hotel, walking paths are directly accessible; they will lead you to the villages of Beausaint or Cielle that dominate the valley. From there, you can proceed to La Roche or discover the small valleys of the Ourthe’s tributaries. According to your choice, these walks can last from one and a half to several hours.
Beausaint lies on the hillside left of the Ourthe: a path climbs the plateau’s slope where you get a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. At the crossroads of cross of Beausaint one of the broadest panoramas of the Ardennes unfolds.![]() |
Cielle is situated on the opposing hillside, a road takes you there. After following this road for 1 km, you may also take a footpath which leads you through the woods of La Roche as far as the forest park of Deister. Laid out with play and seating areas, it unites on 15 hectares thirty different forest tree species. A game park and its cafeteria lie nearby. From the forest park, a path leads you to a viewpoint which offers a marvellous panorama on La Roche. At the foot of the slope is the chapel of Sainte-Marguerite, an oratory built in 1600 and partially cut in the rock.
From the hotel, a quiet road also leads you to La Roche following the valley (2km). If you want to leave for the whole day, a walk can lead you to Maboge, little village on the Ourthe upstream of La Roche.
